Two weeks ago today, our family celebrated a fairly momentous occasion. You may have already heard about it in the news. That’s right, July 1st….was Canada Day!* (Oh yeah, and we had a baby.)
You read that correctly, our number three bouncing baby boy has arrived safe and sound! The whole thing went pretty smoothly, though it was a little on the fast side (about three hours from initial contractions to actual delivery), and would have been a fairly peaceful experience if Rochelle hadn’t kept interrupting all the time talking about her “discomfort” and “pain.” (She’s kind of an attention hog sometimes.)
So, without further ado, allow me to introduce you to the newest member of the Callahan clan: Griffin Dore Callahan! (And, for those wondering, “Dore” is Rochelle’s maiden name.)
We appreciate your prayers as we all adjust to life with a newborn in the house. Contrary to popular belief, taking care of three kids under the age of 4 is NOT easier than raising two. Especially when one of those kids is waking up three times a night demanding food.
*Canada Day is kind of like America’s Independence Day, except that instead of celebrating with huge fireworks shows, cook-outs, and flag-waving, Canadians mostly just nod politely and say “Happy Canada Day!” to each other in a similar manner as to when Winnie-the-Pooh wishes Owl a “Happy Windsday.”
