A few weeks ago, I wrote a post bemoaning the fact that we hadn’t gotten fruit on the last heli flight that came in, and we weren’t going to have an opportunity to get more for several more weeks.

Even though I was being kind of whiny and pathetic about the whole thing, we still had several people mention to us afterwards that they felt sorry for us and had prayed that our situation would improve.

Hearing that we have people halfway around the world actually praying that our little family would be able to score some fresh fruit out here in the bush was pretty cool. What was even cooler was that God provided the fruit!

After hearing that we didn’t have any fresh stuff to use to make Griffin’s baby food, three different families in the village went out of their way to bring some bananas by when they harvested some from their gardens!

Actually, two families brought us bananas. The third family brought us two yellow submarines. Seriously, they were the biggest bananas I’ve ever seen!

Their show of generosity really meant a lot to us, especially because we know how difficult things have been for them since that drought a few months ago, and their gardens are just beginning to bounce back. In the end, we ended up with more bananas in our house than we would have gotten if our original order had been filled with the heli!

So, thank you for your prayers for our family. Thank you for supporting us, even when we let little things get us down. And please join us in thanking God for His willingness to provide for even the little things, if only to remind us that He is more than able to shoulder our burdens, whether they are small or great.
